If you find a concentration of shad stay with them. It is a one creek has none the next is loaded situation. Also look for shad in the main lake near the mouth of creeks. Once located use a ¾ oz. lead head with a 3” swimbait in a shad color to catch fish. The fish can be as deep as 60’ and in water depths of 100’ deep. The fish are responding well to the bait being presented vertically.

With this much east in the wind be prepared for a grind. The best options on this day is to fish channel swing banks with a finesse jig that is pinned to the bottom of the lake. Key on the transitions of the channel swing. In these same areas also try scrubbing a grub. Use a ¼-3/8 lead head with a 3” smoke grub. If you lose contact with the bait set the hook.

Low clouds not as cool
Temp: Hi 56˚ Low 40˚
Wind: SE 6-12 mph
Fish tend to not want to come up to a bait when there is east in the wind. However with the two days of a southeast wind a jerkbait may be a good bait to cover water. Look for 45˚ mixed rock banks that have some wind on them. Long pauses are not required to trigger a strike. Keep the pauses less than 10 seconds. Position the boat in 25-35’ feet of water and cast to the bank. A secondary option on these banks is A-rig
