If you find a concentration of shad stay with them—shad matter. Look for deeper trees with shad near a drop. Trees as deep as 60’. Cast an A-rig beyond the tree and retrieve it just above the tree top. That is a key core area to catching consistent fish. Also cast the A-rig on bluff ends. They fish are still very deep but will come up to a bait.

Periods of rain
Temp: Hi 47˚ Low 35˚
Wind: S 8-13 mph
Depending on the amount of rain and at what temperature it falls will make all the difference. If the rain temperature is warmer than the water temperature go towards the backs of the creeks and fish a small swimbait or grub. Another option is to fish channel swing banks and bluff ends with a jerkbait or an A-rig. Sun the previous day should position fish a bit shallower. This day could set up as a classic winter Table Rock day to catch some bigger fish.

Fish are responding to a vertical presentation at this time. The fish are deep but most are caught around 40-60’ of water in as deep as 90’ of water. Use a ¾ oz. lead head with a 3” swimbait in a shad color to catch fish also try an ice bait or a jigging spoon. If you see a fish streaking towards the bait on the graph get ready to set the hook.
