Warmer with plenty of sun

Temp: Hi 53˚ Low 37˚

Wind: SW 6-10 mph

The football jig bite is solid. There are some great smallmouth being caught on it. The drawback is there are not a ton of bites. It is a consistent bite just not a lot of bites. The fish are deeper than normal for this time of the year. Key on the gravel rolloffs in 25’-35’ deep. There are two keys to getting the fish to bite. Either steadily drag or scrub the jig and second finding the right rolloff. Once it’s found several fish can be caught off of just one point. The 5/8oz jewel jig is working well on the deeper fish the Jewel PeeWee will also work.

Mostly sunny and nice

Temp: Hi 61˚ Low 36˚

Wind: W 6-10 mph

True west wind makes this a good day to throw a crankbait. If you like a throwing a Wiggle wart or RockCrawler then this is the day to go for it. Hunt the wind and cover as much water as possible. Bank type does not seem to matter as much as it must have wind on it to get bites. It does seem the RockCrawler is getting a few more bites simply because it runs a little deeper than the original wiggle warts. It seems the fish are in 8’-12’ of water. Natural craw and Stone Cold seem to be colors

Temp: Hi 55˚ Low 35˚

Wind: NNW 5-8 mph

This is the day to fish deep due to the weather shift. The deep fish are consistent but you have to find them. The best bite is from 30’-60’ deep. Find the shad and you will find the active fish. If generation is heavy or has been heavy look towards the mouth of the creeks. If the generation has been light for the shad to be more towards the back of the creek. The daily battle is the find the shad and that is where the most catchable fish can be found. Shad baits do the best. Smaller Keitech swimbait, smoke grub, shad shape worm, Damiki rig. If it looks like a shad they will eat it.
