Weather Conditions

Mild with considerable cloudiness

Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 35˚

Wind: SSE 6-13 mph

This is a Wart Crawler type of day. The three keys to finding this bite are the same as last week, but add one key.

  1. Bank type does not matter, just fish the wind
  2. Cover lots of water to find the bites
  3. If you get one bite fish that area thoroughly there should be more active fish.
  4. There is better quality and more bites

Fishing the wind is the biggest factor the lower end of the lake seems to be better. The wart crawler bite in the river arms is not as good.

Mostly cloudy and cooler

Temp: Hi 44˚ Low 22˚

Wind: NNW 8-21 mph

The deep has kicked back in strong this week. The ice bait and Keitech 2.8 are working the best. Go into creeks using structure scan and look for shad from 100’-50’ deep. Yes the numbers are backwards on purpose. Start out deep and go shallow. If you don’t see shad move on to the next creek. Once you find shad look for active fish and drop on them. Also look for fish in the trees or coming off the bottom. If you get them fired you can get multiple fish in the same area. Also if you have a creek with shad keep moving around in the creek to find active pods of fish.

Plenty of sunshine

Temp: Hi 48˚ Low 28˚

Wind: ESE 5-9 mph

Lot of sunshine a light and east wind can make things tough, but there is a good option. Dig out the football jig. With all the water than has been pulled over the last few weeks it has positioned the fish on the downstream side of points. Key on long gravel points that roll off into the main lake. The white river portion of the lake seems to be the best for the football jig. The fish will be as deep as 30’ but could be shallower than that.
