Weather Conditions

Friday December 3, 2021

Periods of clouds and sun

Temp: Hi 53˚ Low 37˚

Wind: SW 5-13 mph

This is a wiggle wart type of day, wind clouds maybe some sun, it’s shaping up to be that type of day. Plan on covering lots of water to get the bites and the wind is the whole key. Bank type is less important it’s about the wind. After several days of a southwest wind the third day should really position the fish. The RockCrawler seems to be getting a few more bites. Use the natural craw color you prefer and keep grinding. Not a lot of bites but they are decent fish.

Saturday December 4, 2021

Mostly cloudy and cooler

Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 49˚

Wind: ESE 8-17 mph

This must east in the wind the fish tend to stay on the bottom to eat. This is the day to dig out the jig. The fish are deeper than normal for this time of the year. Key on the gravel rolloffs in 25’-35’ deep. With all of the water generation over the last 7-10 days the fish are positioning on the downstream side of points and rocks. Is also seems the fish want the bait scrubbed The 5/8oz jewel jig is working well on the deeper fish the Jewel PeeWee will also work.

Sunday December 5, 2021

A morning shower in spots otherwise cloudy and milder

Temp: Hi 67˚ Low 31˚

Wind: W 9-23 mph

The deep bite is by far the most consistent bite on the lake right now. Part of the lake doesn’t matter. Creek doesn’t matter, one day it has fish the next it does not. The shad is what matters. Where there are active shad the fish will be active and catchable. Use a grub, a Jewel scuba spoon, a Keitech 2.8 or a drop shot worm. The best bite is from 30’-60’ deep. Find the shad and you will find the active fish. Stay with the shad and you will have to work the fish a little to get them to fire. The bite seems to improve in the afternoon.
