Weather Conditions

Friday February 26, 2021

Mainly cloudy

Temp: Hi 44˚ Low 33˚

Wind: SSE 8-10 mph

This is a good day to cover water. Use a wiggle wart or rock crawler on 45˚ degree chunk and mixed rock banks. With the bite being so tough cover as much water as possible. If you do get a bite in an area fish that area thoroughly. In the area of where the fish was caught also throw a jig.

Some sun then turning cloudy

Temp: Hi 50˚ Low 44˚

Wind: SE 2-4 mph

Focus on main lake areas or any area with groups of shad. Use a grub, swimbait or A-rig. Some dead shad is a good thing too many is a bad thing. Look at how the fish react to the bait. When you find active fish stay with them. Key on the mouths of creeks and bluff ends. The deep fish overall are a little shallower than they have been but plan on keeping the boat is 60’ of water

Sunday February 28, 2021

Occasional rain and drizzle

Temp: Hi 51˚ Low 37˚

Wind: NNE 7-13 mph

After the warmer night the water temperature will not drop much. This could be a throw a jerkbait on main lake or to up a river arm. The river water may have warmed quicker during the week and this could push the fish shallow. Look for steeper banks or and channel swing banks where the fish will push shallower as the ice melts. Keep the boat 30’ deep and cast to the bank.
