Weather Conditions

Friday June 18, 2021

Mostly sunny and very warm

Temp: Hi 95˚ Low 69˚

Wind: SW 7-9 mph

The water is slowly dropping. Try a weightless senko on the outside edge of the bushes. The water dropping should help to position the fish. Do some searching the fish will not be all over but will be key on certain bushes usually on steeper banks. If you get one bite there will usually be multiple fish in that area. Be prepared to hunt and peck and run around finding the right banks.

Saturday June 19, 2021

Very warm with times of clouds and sun

Temp: Hi 93˚ Low 69˚

Wind: SSE 7-10 mph

The swimbait bite is still the most consistent bite. Look for small groups of fish on the graph. The fish could be in water from 5’’-25’ deep. Use the Keitech 2.8 or 3.3 on a 1/4oz head. Start shallow just outside the bushes on the old bank line and cast to the small groups of fish catch active fish early. After the sun is up try scrubbing the swimbait on the bottom in deeper water.

Partly sunny

Temp: Hi 94˚ Low 72˚

Wind: S 6-9 mph

With the water generation light yet steady and the water temperature rising quickly start looking for the deeper fish. Key in on long tapering points that drop directly into the river channel. As the water warms and drops this will position fish deeper than they have been in months. There are several baits to try. A drag a football jig or Carolina rig in 10’-30’ of water. Also try a large crankbait like a DD22 or a Strike King 6XD in these same areas. Make sure the bait is deflecting of the bottom to trigger the fish. This is better in the river arms where the point’s rolloff into the river channel.
