Weather Conditions

Friday June 25, 2021

Some sun, then turning cloudy and breezy

Temp: Hi 93˚ Low 74˚

Wind: SSW 15-23 mph

The water is still slowly dropping. When the wind picks up try a vibrating jig/chatterbait around the bushes. The fish are positioned around the bushes, because the shad are around the bushes. It will be a little bit of a hunt and peck deal some areas will have fish some will not. It can vary from flat banks to steeper banks as long as the wind is blowing in on the bushes.

More clouds than sun

Temp: Hi 91˚ Low 73˚

Wind: SSW 8-13 mph

The swimbait bite is still the most consistent bite and can happen in any part of lake. A cloudy day is good day to look for these roaming fish. The fish could be in water from 5’’-25’ deep, but 10’-20’ deep seems to be the sweet spot. Use the Keitech 2.8 or 3.3 on a 1/4oz head. Start shallow just outside the bushes on the old bank line early in the day, then follow the shad out deeper to stay on the fish.

Becoming cloudy and not as warm but humid with a thunderstorm

Temp: Hi 81˚ Low 67˚

Wind: SSW 5-8 mph

Current water generation is light and steady. However in the afternoons The Corp may really start to run the water. When they do this the fish will group up and get aggressive in river arms on the roll offs. Start with a DD22 or a Strike King 6XD for the most aggressive fish. If that does not triggers strikes try a football jig or a worm in the same areas. The key is to make sure all baits are on the bottom.
