Weather Conditions

Friday August 27, 2021

Mostly sunny and humid

Temp: Hi 89˚ Low 71˚

Wind: S 6-9 mph

After a week of lots sun the thermocline is really beginning to develop around the lake. The most consistent bite right now is the drop shot bite. Use a shad shape worm or a plum finesse worm. It seems the plum and purple worm is getting more bites. Find the thermocline and you will find the fish. Look for them around the ends of big docks or in deep trees. The thermocline is roughly from 27’-32’ of water.

Mostly sunny and humid

Temp: Hi 89˚ Low 71˚

Wind: SSE 6-9 mph

There is a standard fall bite just starting to show up, the football jig bite. The fish are 30’-35’ deep. Being in the early phases of this bite it will be very hit or miss, but quality bites can happen. Look for long points that roll off into the river channel. Right where the roll off is to deeper water is where the fish can be found. Look for rock piles or brush piles that will position the fish. This bite will continue to get better into the fall. At this time it is hit or miss and when they are running water the bite is better. Use the biggest Jewel Football jig you can get. The 5/8oz or the 3/4oz are the best options.

Sunday August 29, 2021

Humid with times of clouds and sun; a thunderstorm in spots in the afternoon

Temp: Hi 85˚ Low 70˚

Wind: SE 5-8 mph

Use the sun and clouds to your advantage and get out the topwater bait. Cover lots of water on the 45 degree banks to bluff banks. Get tight the bank and keep the bait close to bank. This bite is on a bit of lull but there are still good fish to be caught throwing the prop styles baits close to the bank. Target halfway back of large creek arms and the main lake bluffs.
