Weather Conditions

Friday August 6, 2021

Partly sunny

Temp: Hi 87˚ Low 68˚

Wind: SWW 6-8 mph

The lack of generation and temperatures on the rise look for a thermocline to form quickly. It could be from 28’-35’ feet deep. This will position the fish in that depth range. Drop shot a shad shape worm or a small plum worm around that depth. The fish will suspend at that depth but could be over water as deep as 65’.

Mostly sunny

Temp: Hi 91˚ Low 71˚

Wind: SSW 7-10 mph

Look for steeper banks with bigger rocks or laydowns on them. Use a Jewel Pro spider jig. The fish could be in water as shallow as 10’-12’ feet deep. This pattern will require fishing several areas that look the same but once you find fish this is a repeatable and reliable pattern around the lake, especially in the rivers. The bite is better if the wind is directly hitting the bank.

Time of clouds and sun

Temp: Hi 92˚ Low 73˚

Wind: SSW 8-12 mph

After several days of the same wind and temperatures rising a change is needed to stay on the fish. Look for fish on a bluff or 45 degree bank with timber and throw a big swimbait or glide bait. Use your electronics to see if fish are suspended in the timber if they are bring the big swimbait right them and let it work its magic. Do not expect many bites but the fish that are caught will be quality. If a fish follows but does not commit try a fast falling spoon to see if the fish will make a reaction strike.
