Fishing Notes |

Well the fishing was great for me today but the catching not so much! For my partner Roger Fitzpatrick, well he put on a clinic catching 8 keepers on the day on a tough bite in the mid lake area using stickbaits. Started off not to far from takeoff and first cast of the morning a keeper on the swimbait which was later culled! Went back and forth for several passes as Roger had 3 or 4 more bites but the fish didn’t commit. The next spot was a main lake mixed rock pocket which held all the money fish Roger weighed, all caught in probably a 20 yard stretch. Roger caught 3 nice LM all in close proximity to each other and had a couple misses as well. We fished around several other nearby areas to no avail and came back to this area one more time later in day where Roger was able to cull up to his final weight. For myself, I never boated a fish all day, don’t believe I had a bite all day! Not sure if line size or lure color was the difference or if it was just the fisherman! |
