Weather Conditions

Friday February 17, 2023
Sunshine.
Temp: Hi 43˚ Low 28˚
Wind NW 7-13 mph
The sunshine could move up a few fish. Look for sun facing 45˚ mixed rock banks and use a jig. While this
is becoming an old school way to catch fish, the fish have been responding to the jig. Use a finesse
approach and fish slowly. Fish from 12’-20’ deep. If the bait feels weird or mushy set the hook, it is a soft
bite.

Saturday February 18, 2023
Mostly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 50˚ Low 35˚
Wind: SSW 8-20 mph
The single swimbait is trigger bites at this time. It does take some wind and some sun. When they are
pulling the lake that is also pushing the shad to the bottom. If you can find fish on large main lake gravel
flats all the better but not required. Fish the bait down and across this long gravel flats or points to get
bites. A slow steady retrieve is the key but the bait must be in contact or very close to the bottom to get
the bites.

Sunday February 19, 2023
Sunny to partly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 59˚ Low 36˚
Wind: SW 9-28 mph
It’s late February, we had a rain event this week, there is color in the water and water temperatures
have risen. It’s time for the wart or crawler, your preference. Pick a river arm and start covering water.
Once you get a bite or two that will tell you where the fish are located more in the middle of a bank or
closer to a transition. Key on 45˚ mixed rock banks and just make sure you keep that bait in the 5’-12’
range. The bites are light but they are fish to be caught on a crankbait.
