Weather Conditions

Friday May 5, 2023
Mostly cloudy and not as warm
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 59˚
Wind SE 8-16 mph
If you like to sight fish this is probably the last hurrah for the year. With the full moon here on Friday and
the water temps final getting to a good spawning range there should be fish on beds. Try to find pockets
that have less wind. Also smaller pockets that spilt in the back seem to hold more fish than those that do
not split. A white tube is a good option, but also try a smaller bait like a French fry or a small craw.

Saturday May 6, 2023
Humid with intervals of clouds and sunshine
Temp: Hi 91˚ Low 64˚
Wind: S 9-25 mph
The topwater bite is starting to take shape but it is not like normal years. The fish seem to be on mixed
rock banks and not on the gravel points. Use a Redfin or Surge Shad and just cover as much water
possible. If you see fish active on the surface target them but just plan on covering lots of the water.
Bone colored baits seem to work best. Don’t be afraid to cast to the bank, these topwater fish can be
shallow.

Sunday May 6, 2023
Humid with intervals of clouds and sunshine; an afternoon thunderstorm in spots
Temp: Hi 87˚ Low 64˚
Wind: SSW 9-22 mph
In the high winds use a vibrating jig, spinnerbait or a large swimbait. Hit any bank that has wind hitting
directly on the bank. Pick an area of the lake the lake you like to fish and just plan on covering lots of
water by hopping from bank to bank that is windblown. The best banks seem to be the once that are
mixed rock and have pea gravel all the way up to basketball sized rock.
