Weather Conditions

Friday May 19, 2023
Cloudy and cooler with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm
Temp: Hi 67˚ Low 50˚
Wind N 6-13 mph
Before it is gone get out the topwater. Use a walk-the-dog type of bait something that causes a bit more commotion on the surface. Early in the day look for active fish on the surface around pockets and points. As the sun comes up key in on larger docks. In some areas there could be shad spawning but fish seem to really be relating to the bigger docks. Fish the topwater in the open slips or on the shady sides all day long. Bone or white seems to be the color of choice.

Saturday May 20, 2023
Plenty of sunshine
Temp: Hi 70˚ Low 50˚
Wind: NNE 7-15 mph
The bluegill spawn is beginning and this gives a great opportunity to catch fish in an old school style shallow. With the lake up just a little it will help this bite. Go to the back of pockets and look for areas that have bluegill beds. Throw a larger sized squarebill crankbait in a bluegill or sunfish pattern. The more wood cover the better. Keep moving from pocket to pocket. This is a bite that will last all day and it is a fun way to catch them.

Sunday May 21, 2023
Times with clouds and sun
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 55˚
Wind: ESE 5-6 mph
With all the east in the wind and almost no wind this will be a tough day. This will be a good day to fish a shakey head or a Jewel Pee Wee football jig. Look for gravel banks with mixed rock in them. Keep the bait pinned to the bottom and drag the bait. These fish could be between 5’-15’ deep. If they are pulling water also check on the points. Make long casts when fishing like this.
