Weather Conditions

Friday April 28, 2023
Mostly cloudy and warmer
Temp: Hi 67˚ Low 47˚
Wind ENE 7-14 mph
With all the east in the wind it probably is best to fish the bottom. Use a shakey head with bulkier bait.
Try a Senko or Magnum Trick Worm or beaver style bait. Something that is more compact and bulky.
Check the gravel to see if fish are moving in to spawn. However this has been a strange year and the
mixed rock banks with spawning pockets nearby seem to have the fish. Do not be afraid to seek out new
areas, but if you get a bite in a spot fish it hard because there should be additional bites. If you get moss
on your bait leave that area or use baits that are not on the bottom. Most fish are shallower that 12’
feet deep. Keeping the boat in 12’-15’ of water is a good depth.

Saturday April 29, 2023
Clouds breaking for some sun
Temp: Hi 68˚ Low 46˚
Wind: NW 7-15 mph
With the full moon coming this week there should be a good round of fish heading to the bank. If you
like to sight fish is might be the last chance for the year. It seems the better fish are spawning deeper
than normal this year. So take a slower approach and look for deeper beds especially near dock or wood
cover. A shakey head rigged with a Senko has been working well.

Sunday April 30, 2023
Mostly sunny and cool
Temp: Hi 62˚ Low 38˚
Wind: NW 10-27 mph
In the high winds try a white or pink fluke in spawning areas. This will allow you to cover a lot of water
and catch spawning fish without sight fishing. Use 10lb test fluorocarbon or braid with a fluorocarbon
leader on spinning gear so longer casts can be made. Clear or slightly stained water is fine. The key is to
let the bait fall then work it slowly back. Play close attention to the line the bites are tough to detect
they are usually just there. Keep moving and finding new fish that are active. This is fun way to catch fish
on Table Rock.
