Weather Conditions

Friday June 2, 2023
Partly sunny with a thunderstorm around in the afternoon
Temp: Hi 87˚ Low 65˚
Wind: ESE 6-10 mph
There is a worm bite already starting to happen. It’s not the big worm like the heat of the summer. Texas rig a standard 7”-8” worm in plum color. In the clear water fish a bit deeper out to 25’ and the fish are in or around brushpiles. In the river arms is where this bite is better the fish tend to be on the points and channel swing banks with deep water nearby. Fish flooded bushes, steeper banks and points that roll off into the old river channel. The bite is not that aggressive so if it feels weird set the hook.

Saturday June 3, 2023
Mostly cloudy and humid
Temp: Hi 89˚ Low 62˚
Wind: E 6-13 mph
The topwater bite is fading a bit but the popping style baits seem to better right now. They are a bit smaller in size and that matches the shad the fish are chasing. This bite is best early in the day. It can be around docks in standing timber or on round points. Once the topwater bite fade us the small swimbait to still catch fish. The fish maybe suspended but you can also scrub the small swimbait on the bottom.

Sunday June 4, 2023
Intervals of clouds and sun
Temp: Hi 90˚ Low 66˚
Wind: ENE 5-12 mph
The fish have gotten into summertime patterns quickly. There is a drop shot bite already forming but it a bit shallower than normal. The fish seem to be from 22’-32’ deep. Look on long points that good to the old river channel. The ones with timber on them seem to better but the fish are not in the timber. They are still out roaming around. Use a shad colored drop shot bait
