Friday March 3, 2023
Cloudy windy and cooler with rain and snow at times, becoming all rain.
Temp: Hi 46˚ Low 32˚
Wind WNW 16-30 mph
This is an A-rig day. Focus on finding shad, once the shad are found you will find the fish as well. It may take covering large areas looking for shad. They have been difficult to locate at times due to heavy generation, key on shad tight to the bottom. Once found make long casts with an A-rig and those fish will bite. A couple of tips. Make longer casts and use smaller baits on the A-rig.
Saturday March 4, 2023
Mostly sunny and warmer.
Temp: Hi 61˚ Low 43˚
Wind: WNW 5-9 mph
Post front water might come up a bit, high sky and light wind. It will be a tougher day on Table Rock. The way to cure that is to use a single swimbait on a 1/4oz head. A lot of fish have been caught using this bait during the early part of the year. Look for groups of shad that have fish around them. Swim it by fish suspended in brush or in standing timber. Another option is to scrub it on the bottom around flatter points with mixed rock. Keep grinding it may take time but they will eat the single swimbait.
Sunday March 5, 2023
Mild with partial sunshine.
Temp: Hi 68˚ Low 54˚
Wind: SSE 10-29 mph
Wind switch so it might be tough but with it being two days of warmer weather and things stabilizing dig out the wart crawler and cover some water. Might be worth looking in the river arms for some dirtier water but maybe hit those areas after the sun is higher and additional fish move up. Focus on channel swing banks in either creeks or the main lake. But focus on those transition areas where the fish canmove and down quickly. Grind the bill off that thing.
