Weather Conditions

 Friday March 24, 2023

Cooler with periods of rain Temp: Hi 57˚ Low 42˚ Wind N 7-13 mph

Dig out the Virtus Jewel wart crawler rod and cover lots of water. Fish the most wind-blown banks possible. These crankbait fish have moved pretty shallow use the overcast and wind to help you catch these fish. Key on mixed 45˚ banks. The fish are positioned along the larger rock that is mixed in on these type of banks. The fish can be 8’ deep or as shallow as one foot deep. The larger rock (volleyball size and bigger) are where the fish are positioned. If you come across the moss on the bait leave the area there will be very few fish.

Saturday March 25, 2023

Periods of clouds and sunshine Temp: Hi 59˚ Low 43˚ Wind: WNW 7-12 mph

Go straight to the back of any creek arm where water should be coming in from the rains and slow roll a spinnerbait in that water. Also key on any sticks, brush or rocks that could position fish using a jig. This bite may not last all day but the early part of the day should be fun. This warmer water coming in should push in the shad and the bass should follow.

Sunday March 26, 2023

Mainly cloudy Temp: Hi 65˚ Low 41˚ Wind: W 9-20 mph

With the higher winds and the lake settling from the rains go with a jerkbait. Key in on channel swing banks. Also look for fish around trees and brush. The fish that are in 20’ or less of water cast that jerkbait to those areas. As the wind picks up throughout the day look for areas that are protected from the wind but have wind close by—think of bluff ends where fish can be positioned to ambush shad. These can be secondary or main lake areas.
