Look for gravel spawning pockets, these could be large or small pocket and fish them with a jig or shakey
head. This type of gravel with even slightly mixed rock pockets are where the fish want to be and they
moved there fast this week. Fish the bait slow and on the bottom and it should just swim away when
they pick up the bait. These fish are generally not big fish but there are a lot of fish to be caught doing
this.

Saturday April 8, 2023
Partly sunny and pleasant.
Temp: Hi 65˚ Low 43˚
Wind: E 7-14 mph
In the same areas as with the jig you can add a swimbait or an A-rig. However this expands a bit to the
longer points or specifically secondary points leading into to spawning pockets. Back the boat out a little
deeper and make long cast with the bait scrubbing the bottom or just off the bottom. This is not an
aggressive bite but the fish are there to be caught. The key to this is the ability to cover more water
faster by being a bit deeper and making the longer casts.

Sunday April 9, 2023
Pleasant with times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 67˚ Low 50˚
Wind: SE 7-17 mph
The Wart Crawler bite is alive and well, but there is one key specific detail to take into account. That
detail is the moss. If you get moss on your bait leave the area and find a new spot. Fish the gravel banks
with a wart or crawler. Wind is very helpful but having a slight stain to dirty water really makes a
difference. Plan on moving around and covering water to keep finding bites. If you see a larger rock in an
area make multiple casts to the rock. If you get one bite in an area there should be another fish or two
to catch in that area.
