Weather Conditions

Friday April 14, 2023 Mostly cloudy Temp: Hi 79˚ Low 61˚ Wind S 8-17 mph

This could be the best day of the weekend to sight fish due to the high winds. Fish are definitely going to beds but it might be a touch early just yet. Look for protected spawning pockets to find the fish. Use a white tube on a short drop shot if the wind is high use a pink colored bait. Don’t waste time on fish that don’t stick around, stay with fish that are more locked onto the position.

Saturday April 15, 2023 Periods of clouds and sunshine.

A morning shower in spots followed by a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Temp: Hi 77˚ Low 41˚ Wind: WSW 10-29 mph The shakey head bite seems to be lake wide. As long as you find mixed rock banks with spawning pockets near there seem to be fish around. Keep the bait on the bottom to get the bites, if you get one bite in an area there are usually multiple fish. Don’t be afraid to keep moving to new spots. If you get moss on your bait leave that area or use baits that are not on the bottom. Most fish are shallower that 12’ feet deep. Keeping the boat in 12’-15’ of water is a good depth.

Sunday April 16, 2023 Sunshine, breezy and cooler. Temp: Hi 63˚ Low 41˚ Wind: WNW 14-38 mph

The wind will roar plan on covering lots water with a chatterbait. This bite will probably better in the stained water than in clear water. Cover lots of water with this bait fish the wind but also key on those areas where fish should be spawning. Use a 1/2 oz sized bait and boot tailed trailer. Don’t reel the bait too fast just keep it moving and cover lots of water.
