Fishing Forecast

The Table Rock Lake Fishing Forecast is designed to help maximize the time you spend on the lake with catching more fish. The fishing forecast is constructed using a mix of historical data, tournament results, weather patterns and general lake conditions. One of the biggest elements is using actual information from recent time on the water. This gives a general snapshot of some of the best ways to catch fish at that current time.

The fish have really been around the docks the last couple of months and that continues to happen. Focus on the cables at the ends of larger docks. The fish are 25’-40’ and the depth they are located depends on the day. To catch these fish use either a drop-shot rig or a slab spoon. You can tell very quickly how the fish react to the bait to determine which bait they want. If they are aggressive, they want the spoon, less aggressive use the drop-shot. Use shad-colored worms on the drop-shot. A white spoon is the only color to use.

Temp: Hi 94˚ Low 69˚
Wind: ESE 6-15 mph
There is a shallow bite around the lake, and it has improved since water has come up a little bit. The fish are positioned close to wood cover. This can be stumps or laydowns. Make longer casts using a Buzzbait or a plopper to get these fish to bite. It does seem making a longer cast helps to generate more bites. The fish are not hammering the bait, they are just slurping it under. It helps to use braid with these topwater baits. Plan on covering lots of water doing this just keep locating shallow wood cover and the fish seem to be there. If you see a larger rock, make a cast or two to the larger rock.

Sunday August 20, 2023

Sunny to partly cloudy, very warm and humid
Temp: Hi 95˚ Low 69˚
Wind: ESE 6-7 mph
The big worm has been off and on this entire summer. It seems fish are on the main lake points when they are generating water. When no water is being generated find deeper brush piles. The fish are in the brush pile and will still eat a big worm. A 10” is the smallest worm to use right now, but fish are eating up to 14” worms. Use at least 15 lb test line and a 5/16 oz weight to get the bait down and to move a fish when you get the bite. Fish areas thoroughly but keep moving to new areas if you get one bite you should get multiple bites. Red- or purple-colored worms seems to be working the best.
