There is a Buzzbait bite happening in all parts of the lake, but it is very specific. Pick a river arm and go as shallow as possible looking for wood cover. Look towards the back of creek and river arms. There are not a lot of bites to get doing this, but the quality of the fish is very good. Plan on bouncing around to many areas to get the bites. This is just as likely to work in clear water as it will in stained water. The key is the wood cover. Use a black Buzzbait with the horny toad in place of the skirt.
Saturday September 30, 2023
Sunny to partly cloudy and hot
Temp: Hi 92˚ Low 65˚
Wind: SSE 5-10 mph
The deep bite is still solid. There are fish to be caught on the drop shot. The fish are related to trees and are in water 20’-25’ deep. The trees could be as deep as 70’, but the fish are around 25’ deep. Look for main lake flats near the mouth of creeks that have trees. Scan through the trees with forward facing sonar. Look for shad and small groups of bass near the shad. These smaller groups tend to be active, making them very catchable fish. Shad colored worms seem to be the best bait option on the drop shot rig.

Sunny and very warm
Temp: Hi 88˚ Low 63˚
Wind: ESE 6-9 mph
The football jig and Carolina rig bite is happening is still strong. This bite is better when they are running water, but that widow is small each day. all over the lake. The key depth is 25’ of water. Fish don’t seem to be any deeper than that but can be a little shallower. Keep the bait on the bottom but don’t be worried about hopping it occasionally. Key on the long gravel points all over the lake those that are in 25’ at the roll off tend hold more fish. The Jewel Pee Wee HD football jig and be sure to add some orange to the trailer.
