Partly sunny and very warm
Temp: Hi 98˚ Low 74˚
Wind: SW 8-21 mph
The river bite continues to be solid. The new Jewel Pee Wee HD Football jig is working well. The fish are 15’-25’ deep on gravel roll offs. Key in on the long gravel points that roll off into the river channel. In the morning the fish can be up on the gravel, but it doesn’t take long for them to be right on the drop. The 5/8oz size seems to be better due to the faster fall and being able to pin to the bottom. If you catch a fish stay with them there should be more than one that will bite. This can be a timing deal and it gets better when they generate water.
Saturday July 29, 2023
Partly sunny and very warm with a passing shower
Temp: Hi 97˚ Low 72˚
Wind: SW 6-15 mph
There is a good shallow bite in the farthest reaches of any river arm on Table Rock. Use a Buzzbait and a square bill to get the bites. These tend to be smaller fish, but the numbers of fish are great. Key on wood cover to the bites it may take multiple casts to the same piece of wood to get the bite. This is better early and late or when they are not running water. Get as shallow as you can go and don’t be afraid to have the square bill moving fast.
Sunday July 30, 2023

Temp: Hi 96˚ Low 71˚
Wind: NW 7-13 mph
The drop shot and Jewel scuba spoon have been a very consistent to get bites for weeks. The fish are 25’-40’ deep. These fish are in trees on bluff ends along the main lake. It can take a little time to determine which bait the fish like more that can be a timing thing or just day-to-day. Some days they want the fast drop of a spoon others you may have to work them with the drop shot. Use a 1/4oz weight to get the bait to the depth quickly. Use a shad-colored worm or the standard plum. Plum has been working well lately. A white colored spoon seems to be working best. Once you find a group stay with them you can continue to catch fish, if the fish are not active move around until you find an active school.
