Wind: SW 7-9 mph
We are certainly in the dog days of summer right now where everything is the same. Use a drop shot 25’-35’ deep in trees. These fish are in trees on bluff ends along the main lake. The fish are just related to the trees. So if you find deeper trees you should have no problem fishing fish. The plum worm seems to be the best option. Use a 1/4oz weight to get the bait to the depth quickly. Once you find a group stay with them you can continue to catch fish, if the fish are not active move around until you find an active school.

Saturday August 5, 2023

Periods of clouds and sunshine with a couple of thunderstorms
Temp: Hi 91˚ Low 73˚
Wind: W 8-16 mph
There is a good shallow bite in the farthest reaches of any river arm on Table Rock. Use a Buzzbait and a chatter bait around wood cover. Use the Buzzbait early and late and the chatterbait during the day. With the lake down there is wood cover exposed providing excellent targets to cast. Don’t be afraid to get as shallow as possible keep the bait moving.

Sunday August 6, 2023

Humid with sunshine and patchy clouds
Temp: Hi 87˚ Low 69˚
Wind: NW 7-13 mph
The river bite this time of year is usually very solid and consistent and it’s usually with a worm. You can catch fish on a big worm. However, the new Jewel Pee Wee HD Football jig seems to be getting more bites. The fish are 15’-25’ deep on gravel roll offs. These fish tend to be grouped up so if you get one bite you should get more bites. The 5/8oz size seems to be better due to the faster fall and being able to pin to the bottom. If you catch a fish stay with them there should be more than one that will bite. When they start generating water in the afternoon this bite can really get fired up and make it a fun day.
