Weather Conditions
Friday September 6, 2024
Intervals of clouds and sun with a thunderstorm in spots.
Temp: Hi 79˚ Low 52˚
Wind: NNE 9-28 mph
The plopper bite is coming on quickly right now. This bite seems to be better later in the day when the sun has the fish fully positioned. Cover steeper banks especially those that have larger broken rocks. It does not take much wind but just a little wind in on the bank really helps the bite improve. Plan on covering miles of water in a day but also plan on catching keeper size fish all day as well.
Saturday September 7, 2024
Less humid with plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 75˚ Low 48˚
Wind: NE 8-16 mph
The drop-shot bite is probably the most consistent bite going right now. These fish seem to be around the trees and when you find them they are active aggressive fish. If you don’t see or find fish that are active keep moving until you do. Once an active group is located there are several fish to be caught out of that group. Shad shaped and colored soft plastic baits seem to be the best right now. Also try white.
Sunday September 8, 2024
Plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 74˚ Low 50˚
Wind: ESE 5-8 mph
There is now a buzzbait bite that is showing up. This seems to be focused in the river arms and is shallow. Cover a lot of water and focus on 45˚ banks and steeper banks. Really key in on areas that have a few larger rocks and any wood cover in the water. This bite seems to be lasting all day but don’t plan on a lot of bites, but the quality is good. Cover a lot of water. Use a black buzzbait.
