Friday December 12, 2025
Partly sunny and cooler.
Temp: Hi 48˚ Low 28˚
Wind: N 8-17 mph
The fish continue to eat a Rock Crawler in all parts of the lake. This has been a solid way to catch fish for two months and it continues to be that way but as the water cools it changes slightly. Channel swing banks about halfway back in creek arms is a good place to start. This bite is better if the wind is blowing directly on these banks. The fish are 10’-15’ deep. Plan on covering a lot of water in the day but, when you catch a fish, you can usually catch a couple in that general area. Spot hop with the right bank and wind to be the most productive. PB&J or red craw seem to be the best colors.
Saturday December 13, 2025
Some sun then turning cloudy.
Temp: Hi 47˚ Low 12˚
Wind: E 7-20 mph
There is deep bite is the best bite on the lake right now. Fish are moving fast and covering a lot of water. Target the main lake in front of and the mouth of larger creek arms. Most of the bait fish are 20’-50’ deep. When you find the bait fish you will find the fish. For the shallower fish 20’-30’ feet deep the jig and minnow are working best. For the deeper fish especially those 40’ and deeper the ice bait is working better. Use FFS to find the shad. Once you have found shad you will find active fish, but you must stay with the shad. These fish are moving quickly and aggressively. Baits in the 3”-4” range is the right size. Plan on searching throughout the day.
Sunday December 14, 2025
Plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 29˚ Low 19˚
Wind: NE 6-13 mph
There is a jig bite happening. It is in the same areas as the Wart/Crawler bite but just use a jig. It seems this will get you bites on days with less wind or channel swings that have little to no wind blowing in on them. The fish are in 10’-15’ of water. Thoroughly fish larger rock or wood cover by making several casts to that spot. The Jewel 5/16oz AJ jig in PB&J or brown and purple are the best options. The bite is not aggressive the bait will either slowly swim away or just feel like a leaf is on the bait.
