The fishing forecast is constructed using a mix of historical data, tournament results, weather patterns and general lake conditions. Partly sunny.
Temp: Hi 50˚ Low 41˚
Wind: SSW 7-18 mph
The deep bite is getting good right now. Fish are moving fast and covering a lot of water. Target the first half of creek arms to find the shad. Once you find the shad you will find the fish. The fish are 20’-50’ deep. Just an ice jig or a jig and minnow to catch is needed to catch these fish. Depth and fall rate are what determines which works better at any time during the day. The shad are moving fast so the fish are moving fast, stay with the shad. Do not be afraid to go searching for new fish.
Saturday December 20, 2025
Breezy and mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 61˚ Low 29˚
Wind: W 10-29 mph
The A-rig bite is beginning to show up in the river arms. Focus on creek channel swings with standing timber. Most of the fish are suspended in the tops of the trees. In many cases you can see fish with FFS but sometimes fish just appear and eat the A-rig. Focus on the channel swings but don’t be afraid to look at other areas with standing timber. Keep the four outer baits smaller and more natural shad colors. For the one in the middle or farthest back use a size larger and either make it lighter or darker in color. Steady retrieve gets the bite.
Sunday December 21, 2025
Partly sunny.
Temp: Hi 53˚ Low 32˚
Wind: E 7-16 mph
The main lake jig bite is still happening. Main lake points seem to be the best bite doing this. Key on the gravel points but the ones that have some larger rock mixed in or larger rock spots seem to be best. Wind blowing on or across the points seems to help and the constant water being pulled will position the fish. The fish are in 10’-20’ of water and it depends on the day how shallow or deep they are. The Jewel 5/8oz football jig in PB&J or brown and purple are the best options. The bite is not aggressive, the bait will either slowly swim away or just feel like a leaf is on the bait.
