Weather Conditions
Friday February 6, 2026

Sunny.
Temp: Hi 58˚ Low 28˚
Wind: NW 10-29 mph
The deep bite has really picked up after this cold snap. It has really grouped up the shad and gotten the fish active. Focus on the mouth of larger creek arms to about halfway back in the creek. Once you find the shad you will find the bass. If you don’t see shad move. The water being pulled is helping to position the shad as well. These fish are from 30’-60’ of water but the bass could be in any range if the shade is present. Jig head and minnow have been the best way to catch these fish.

Saturday February 7, 2026

Partly sunny.
Temp: Hi 51˚ Low 34˚
Wind: ESE 7-16 mph
The A-rig bite very good very fast. Target main lake and secondary points, the fish seem to be in 15’-30’ of water. Smaller baits are working better. Use 2.8”-3.3” baits in a natural shad color. Using a larger bait in the middle or farthest back does seem to help. Steady retrieve gets the bite. Use the wind to your advantage.

Sunday February 8, 2026

Partly sunny and warmer.
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 36˚
Wind: SW 7-17 mph
There is a jerkbait bite, but it seems to be in the river arms, the Kings and James arms seem to be best. There is a small shad kill in these river arms. This is not widespread but more isolated in nature. These jerkbait fish are shallow in 5’-15’ of water on main lake and secondary points. It seems bone color and a +1 model are the color and depth range to use.
