Friday February 27, 2026
Warm and sun.
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 46˚
Wind: SW 8-20 mph
There is a jerkbait bite, but it seems somewhat specific. It seems to be best on sunny windy days. These fish are relatively shallow. Focus on main lake and secondary points. The fish are in 8’-12’ of water. This bite is widespread throughout the lake and seems to catch better quality fish. Use a +1 model, bone has been a good color.
Saturday February 28, 2026
Mostly sunny with a shower in spots late in the afternoon.
Temp: Hi 76˚ Low 37˚
Wind: SSW 7-17 mph
The deep bite is still the best bite on the lake. The jig head and minnow seem to produce the best. Focus on major creek arms from the mouth to about ¾ of the way back. The fish are starting to set up more around cover. That can be standing timber, brushpiles and docks. The fish are generally in the 20’-40’ range over 60’-80’ of water. Shad are not as critical as they were a few weeks ago, but continue to use a shad-colored bait
Sunday March 1, 2026
Sunny and cold.
Temp: Hi 48˚ Low 34˚
Wind: E 10-23 mph
The A-rig bite is getting pretty good. Focus on main lake and secondary points that have brush and timber on them. Most of the A-rig fish are related to the cover in 10’-20’ of water. These fish change daily as far as depth and one day one spot is good but the next day it’s a similar looking spot but across the lake. If you see a fish on the bottom or it comes off the bottom towards the A-rig these are very catchable fish. Wind helps this bite. Made the center bait larger and different color.
