Clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 45˚
Wind: NW 7-20 mph
With the rising the fish have gotten very shallow. Key in on areas where water is still flowing into the lake and there is a slight stain. The fish are extremely shallow and can be in inches of water. Use a big spinnerbait or chatterbait to catch these fish. Fish efficiently, but picking apart the back of the creeks then moving on to find the next one. White or white and chartreuse seems to work the best.
Saturday March 14, 2026
Sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 75˚ Low 56˚
Wind: SSE 8-24 mph
The jighead and minnow continues to catch good numbers of fish. These fish are on the move. Target major creek arms that have the clearest water. Look for these fish from the mouth to ¾ of way back in major creek arms. These fish are up in the water column and roaming. When you find small groups of fish higher in the water column, then target those fish. Shad are not as critical to find the fish. This bite can be good early in the day and get slower as the day goes on.
Sunday March 15, 2026
Couple showers in the morning, mostly cloudy breezy and cooler.
Temp: Hi 61˚ Low 18˚
Wind: WSW 16-43 mph
The crankbait bite is improving but it is specific. This bite seems to be better in the river arms in water that have some stain, it doesn’t take much. With the lake level rising so much this should eliminate the moss problem. Target creek channel swings especially if they have wind blowing in on them. This bite is also on the lower end of the lake but it takes just a little bit of color in the water. Use crawfish colored crankbaits. These fish are 6’-10’ deep.
