Weather Conditions
Friday April 24, 2026

Showers in the morning and afternoon.
Temp: Hi 73˚  Low 55˚
Wind: NW 7-12 mph
The tube bite is very strong right now for numbers even if they are not pulling water. This is a great way to catch fish right now. Just focus on gravel points. Drag the tube in 5’-15’ of water. It seems the fish are positioned differently on a cloudy day versus a sunny day. So you just must hunt around to find the depth they want to be in that day. Puke and green pumpkin are the best color options.

Saturday April 25, 2026

Cloudy in the morning followed by sun.
Temp: Hi 77˚  Low 57˚
Wind: SE 9-16 mph
There is a glidebait/magdraft bite. These fish are shallow and are in 3’-5’ of water. Target points and transition banks leading to spawning pockets. It’s likely the magdraft fish are more post spawn and, on their way, out. These fish can be very aggressive. Make long casts to the right areas and just retrieve the bait steady and slow. Don’t real too fast so the bait runs true. White seems to be the best color.

Sunday April 26, 2026

Mostly cloudy and breezy in the morning then thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Temp: Hi 78˚  Low 64˚
Wind: SE 12-25 mph
This spinnerbait/chatterbait bite is more in the river arms. Target the back half of transition banks in the back half of creeks. Look for the stain to throw these moving baits. The key is to keep the bait wet and cover a lot water. Keep moving and you will find bites doing this. Use white with a little chartreuse or use a bluegill color (brown and purple) to catch these fish. It seems the chatterbait gets more bites and the spinnerbait gets bigger bites.
