Partly sunny and humid with a thunderstorm in spots.
Temp: Hi 90˚ Low 72˚
Wind: S 6-14 mph
The deep crankbait bite is still a good way to catch fish. This bite is defiantly better with water being pulled. These fish have been in 10’-15’ of water. This bite is best in the James and Kings river arms. Key on channel swing point and gravel roll-offs in the river arms. This can be a timing deal. If you hit the right spot at the right time, it can be fast action and a lot of fun. Use a deep diving crankbait with plenty of chartreuse and a blue or black back. The more the bait crashes into the bottom the better. Plan on bouncing to several spots throughout the day.
Saturday June 4, 2026
Humid with sun and clouds.
Temp: Hi 90˚ Low 69˚
Wind: SSW 6-8 mph
The football jig is also working. This seems to be better when there is no water being pulled. This can be done in both the river arms or on the main lake. The fish can be from 10’-30’ of water. The Jewel Pee Wee football jig seems to be the best option. Use a trailer with plenty of action and add some chartreuse to the tail of the trailer. These football jig fish are hot and pull hard.
Sunday June 5, 2026
Humid with periods of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 85˚ Low 69˚
Wind: NW 5-10 mph
The drop-shot bite continues to be the best way to catch numbers of fish right now. The fish are in 20’-30’ of water on main lake points. This is best at the lower end of the lake but can be done at the lower end of the major river arms. Look for the roaming fish, they seem to be more aggressive. Use a shad shape worm in a shad color or a little plum worm. Use FFS to locate these fish and stay with them.
