Times of clouds and sun with a thunderstorm in spots.
Temp: Hi 94˚ Low 71˚
Wind: SW 8-15 mph
The deep crankbait bite just keeps rolling along. It does change just a little bit but is still good. This bite is defiantly better with water being pulled. Target 15’-25’ of water. Find the roll off or hard spot on the flat in the river arms. This bite is best in the James and Kings river arms. Can’t stress timing enough, if you hit the right spot at the right time, it can be fast action and a lot of fun. Really crank hard and crash the bait around on the bottom.
Saturday July 11, 2026
Variable cloudiness with showers and humid.
Temp: Hi 87˚ Low 67˚
Wind: W 8-9 mph
The jig bite is good right now. There are two different jig bites—one deep and one shallow. Use a Pee Wee football jig on offshore structure in 15’-30’ of water. This bite is better when they are pulling water but it can still be good when they are not. Use a trailer with plenty of action and add some chartreuse to the tail of the trailer. The second jig bite is a Jewel AJ finesse jig in around shallow docks. Key on the back side of the dock in 2’-5’ of water. Brown and purple seem to be the best color and use a trailer that flaps. Add a little chartreuse to the tail.
Sunday July 12, 2026
Humid and cloudy with thunderstorms in the area.
Temp: Hi 85˚ Low 66˚
Wind: NE 4-12 mph
There is a square bill bite in the river arms. These fish are in 2’-5’ of water and are keying on bluegill. This will require going up the rivers to the some of the most shallow water on the lake. Pick a bank and start cranking. It is common to get several bites quickly then not get a bite for a while. Just keep covering water. Wood cover will also help. Use bluegill imitating color or chartreuse and black back. These seem to be the best colors to catch these fish.
