The shallow topwater is getting good. Target gravel banks and chunk rock bank with gravel that have bream and shore minnows. The plopper and the buzzbait have been working best. Use dark or bluegill-colored baits. Plan on covering a lot water during the day but this bite will last all day.

The offshore bite has been good. Target main lake points with drop-offs or at the roll-off into the channel. If the point has a rock pile or an area of larger rock all the better. The important depth is 15’-25’ of water. Football jigs, deep crankbait, flutter spoon, and a drop-shot head are the best options. It just depends on what the fish want that day. If the fish are on the bottom start with the football jig or crankbait. If they are suspended the drop-shot or flutter spoon is best. This bite can be a timing deal so don’t be afraid to bounce around and point hop.

There is a big worm bite in the brushpiles. Target brush piles in 10’-20’ of water. Use a 10” or larger worm and work it through the brushpiles thoroughly. This can be done in creek arms or larger pockets. In the river arms it will work on the channels offshore. Use a plum-colored worm.
