The offshore bite just keeps rolling along. It continues to be strong. Target 15’-30’ of water with your choice of a variety of baits. Football jig, hair jig, deep crankbait, flutter spoon, drop-shot and magnum shaky head. The football jig, hair jig and drop-shot work better in the clear water. The flutter spoon, crankbait, and shaky head work better in the river arms. This bite is better when water is being pulled. Focus on long gravel points that roll off into the channel. This bite can be a timing deal so don’t be afraid to bounce around and point hop.

This bite is best first thing in the morning but topwater fish can be caught all day long right now. Check channel swing banks in the back of creeks. Use either a prop style bait in black or a walk-the-dog type bait in bone. Plan on covering a lot of water to get these bites.
