Weather Conditions
Friday July 31, 2026

Humid with times of clouds and sun. A thunderstorm in spots in the afternoon.
Temp: Hi 94˚  Low 66˚
Wind: SW 7-16 mph
The topwater is coming on. This is being driven by the bluegill spawn. The full moon was last week. So the bass are looking for a bluegill. Check channel swing banks in the back of creeks, especially where they end and flatten out. Plan on covering a lot of water to get these bites, but you can catch fish all day long doing this. Use dark colored baits.

Saturday August 1, 2026

Times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 80˚  Low 63˚
Wind: NW 10-27 mph
The offshore bite has been good all some, but it’s a game of which bait is best at a given time and what par to the lake is better. The important depth is 15’-30’ of water. This bite is better when they are pulling water and the river arms seem to be better quality fish. Football jig, hair jig, deep crankbait, flutter spoon, drop-shot and magnum shaky head are the best options. The deep crankbait is best in the river arms when water is being pulled. The magnum shakey head or the big worm are the best one bait option throughout the lake. Focus on long gravel points that roll off into the channel. This bite can be a timing deal so don’t be afraid to bounce around and point hop.

Sunday August 2, 2026

Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 83˚  Low 63˚
Wind: NNE 7-20 mph
The deep dock bite is still strong. This is an early morning deal. Once the sun is high in the sky the fish adjust. A big part of this bite is when they are pulling water. This positions the bait fish and the bass follow. With these fish being aggressive early they like the flutter or slab spoon. As it begins to show the shad shaped worm comes into play. If you don’t see fish on the screen quickly move to the next dock. Use a white spoon or shad colored worm.
