Weather Conditions
Friday September 4, 2026

Sunny and hot.
Temp: Hi 97˚  Low 73˚
Wind: S 6-16 mph
The offshore structure bite continues but it is changing. These fish are moving to more fall locations. Target isolated pieces of structure, like rock piles, larger rocks, brush piles or small larger rock roll offs. These key offshore structure areas need to be in 10’-25’ of water. Football jigs and a drop shot are the best two ways to catch these fish. It won’t last much longer but you can still use a big worm or a large flutter spoon. The football jig is getting bigger bites, and the drop-shot is getting more bites. Oddly they don’t seem to work at the same spot. Once the fish are located one spot can be good. So really stay with a spot that keeps producing bites. If they stop biting, check other places but don’t be afraid to revisit the same spot on the same day.

Saturday September 5, 2026

Mostly sunny and hot.
Temp: Hi 98˚  Low 71˚
Wind: SSW 5-6 mph
The topwater bite is across the entire lake, but it takes covering a lot of water in a day to keep getting bites. In the backs of creek or river arms the buzzbait bite is better and this around wood. Basically in shallower water. The Plopper bite is better along the 45˚  banks and small pockets or rounded points in creek arms that have larger rock. Focus on areas that have basketball or larger rock. This fish are tight to this cover. This is just a grind but there are fish to catch doing this. Use darker color baits that are bluegill colored.

Sunday September 6, 2026

Partly sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 102˚  Low 70˚
Wind: E 4-10 mph
The drop-shot bite is picking up but there are mostly Spots. These fish are on bluff end points with standing timber. The timber needs to top out in 15’-30’ foot range. These specific areas hold good numbers of fish and are catchable. If you find a good school stay with them until they stop biting. Don’t be afraid to bounce around looking for more spots to locate more fish. This bite is better when water is begin generated. Use a shad shape worm in shad colors.
