Friday October 30, 2026

Times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 74˚  Low 55˚
Wind: SE 6-12 mph
The football jig bite is still good on the main lake, but brush is becoming important as the water continues to cool. These fish vary a bit from day-to-day depending on sun and clouds. The key depth range is 10’-20’, but this can also vary a bit on any given day. Focus on main lake and secondary points to find these fish. Keep the bait on the bottom but keep the bait moving and use a trailer that will push some water. Browns and green seem to be the best colors.

Saturday October 31, 2026

Cloudy and cooler with a shower.
Temp: Hi 64˚  Low 56˚
Wind: ESE 6-9 mph
The topwater bite continues to be solid, but it is beginning to change. The shallow fish are not as into the topwater baits, but the bite is still in the creeks. The fish are herding the bait fish into the creeks as the water begins to cool. So when these active fish are located the bite can be good with some fast action. A walking-the-dog style bait seems to be best for catching these fish. Use it in a bone color or something with a black back.
Sunday November 1, 2026

Some sun then turning cloudy.
Temp: Hi 68˚  Low 56˚
Wind: E 2-4 mph
The jighead minnow is good right now.  Look for balls of bait fish along deeper channels swing suspended in deep water. The bait fish are moving fast and can change locations on any given day. Use FFS to scan for the balls of shad, once you find some shad it should not be to difficult to fish bass chasing them. It seems the fish want large baits so use shad-colored baits in the 3”-5” sizes.
