Friday November 6, 2026

Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 56˚  Low 37˚
Wind: NNE 7-15 mph
The football jig bite is still good, but it can be hit or miss depending on the day. It also seems brush is becoming important as the water continues to slowly cool. The key depth range is 10’-25’, but this can vary a bit on any given day. Focus on main lake and secondary points to find these fish. Keep the bait on the bottom but keep the bait moving and use a trailer that will push some water. The Jewel Pee Wee jig seems to be better than a full-size football jig. Browns and greens seem to be the best colors.

Saturday November 7, 2026

Intervals of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 55˚  Low 37˚
Wind: ENE 4-5 mph
The jighead minnow is the best option right now. Look for balls of bait fish along deeper channel swings. These fish can be suspended in a range of 10’-50’ deep over water as deep as 80’. Look for groups of bait fish. Once bait fish are located using FFS look for active fish chasing the bait fish. These are most catchable fish right now. If the fish are not active look for more bait fish. The key is not being afraid to keep looking for more fish. It seems the fish want larger baits so use shad-colored baits in the 3”-6” size range.

Sunday November 8, 2026

Sunny to partly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 62˚  Low 39˚
Wind: W 5-7 mph
There is a glidebait bite, but it can be sporadic and it can also produce better quality fish. With the water level down look for cedar trees that top out near or at the surface. These fish tend to be shallow in the tree so keep the bait moving quickly near the surface. This is right on the leading edge of this bite getting to its best of the year. Plan on covering a lot of water to get these bites and one day it can be great and the next terrible so stick with it. Use a larger bait 7”-9” in length in shad colors but a little red to gill area.
