Weather Conditions
Friday February 16, 2024

Cooler with a shower.
Temp: Hi 43˚ Low 22˚
Wind: NE 8-23 mph
The fish really moved up with the warmer temperatures after the snow. Look for fish to be in standing timber 15’-20’ deep. Start on main lake points and work down the steeper or 45˚ banks that have standing timber. The fish higher in the water column are more aggressive and easier to bite. Just roll the A-rig right over their heads. In some cases you will have to work on the fish a little bit to get them to commit. Use shad-colored baits.
Saturday February 17, 2024

Sunny
Temp: Hi 43˚ Low 26˚
Wind: NW 7-16 mph
Use a Jewel 7/16oz spider jig in brown and purple flash on channel swing banks in the river arms. Really focus on the channel swings that have some type of wood cover. It can be either laydowns or standing timber. The fish are in 8’-18’ of water, and are positioned on the bottom. Keep the bait on the bottom and fish slow and thoroughly to get the bites. If it feels odd or heavy set the hook. The bite is very light. This bite does not produce any big fish, but they are plenty of fish to catch on the jig.

Sunday February 18, 2024

Warmer with plenty of sunshine
Temp: Hi 56˚ Low 38˚
Wind: WSW 8-17 mph
Go to the river arms and use a Wart/Crawler the end of channels swings. This bite is better on sunny days because the fish move up when it is sunny. This bite can be better in the afternoon. Cover lots of water but focus the channel swings in river arms or in larger creeks. A natural craw that has some orange or red in it. Sunny days and wind seems to help this bite.
