Mostly sunny and pleasant.
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 55˚
Wind: SSW 13-29 mph
This is a good day for the A-rig with the sun and high winds. Early in the day, target suspended fish around docks and trees using forward facing sonar. These will be isolated fish or small groups of fish. If you see shad all the better. Then as it gets to late morning, or the early afternoon use the A-rig to cover water. Focus on wind-blown mixed rock banks with the A-rig cast it shallow and slowly reel it back. This is better in water with a slight stain.  The fish will be in 5’-10’ of water.  White seems to be a good color swimbait on the heads that have hooks.

Saturday March 30, 2024

Times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 57˚
Wind: SW 9-15 mph
The wiggle wart/crawler bite has lasted a long time this year but has never been peak conditions. It might finally get right. This will require bouncing around and chasing wind all day, but better fish can be caught. This are wiggle wart/rock crawler fish that can be caught in the same areas as the shallow A-rig fish. Key in on mixed rock banks that have pockets. It is important to stay with the bait and keep grinding and use the wind to your advantage. Crawfish colors with a little orange seem to be working best also the clear green (phantom) is working as well. These fish are 5’-10’ deep so use the wind to your advantage.

Sunday March 31, 2024

Cloudy and warm
Temp: Hi 78˚ Low 63˚
Wind: SSW 9-21 mph
There are certainly still deep fish to catch right now. They have been deeper than they were only a week ago. Using forward facing sonar look for shad on main lake and secondary points or around docks. The fish seem to mostly be in 25’-30’ of water. If you find fish shallower than this they tend to be more aggressive and easier to catch. Use a Damiki rig or a small swimbait. A ¼ oz head seems to be right for the depth of the fish.
