The fish are not fully transitioned to summertime areas yet, but it is happening quickly. Dragging the gravel is a good way to get bites right now. Use a Ned, shakey head or tube to get these fish to bite. Use green pumpkin with a little chartreuse on the tail with these baits. Specifically on the tube use the famous puke color to get bites. Insert a lead head into the tube to allow it to drag better on the gravel. This can be through on spinning gear or on a baitcaster.

There is a drop-shot bite already starting. While it is a little early it does seem to be happening. The fish that are around the docks where the shad spawn in happening, go to the ends of the docks after the shad spawn is done. It seems they are being positioned by all the current and are waiting for shad to go by to feed on. Use shad-shaped worms or even a small swimbait to get the bites. Use forward facing sonar to locate the fish but they tend to be around the 15’-25’ of water range.

Temp: Hi 86˚ Low 60˚

Use topwater baits around any bushes in the water or around docks. This is based on the shad spawn and is happening throughout the lake. This is a about finding the areas the shad are spawning to catch these fish. These fish tend to be the better quality fish. Use a Shower Blow, or Spook and make sure each cast is close to the target or where fish are actively feeding on the shad.
