There are fish on the docks throughout the lake, the tough part is finding the docks that have active fish. Starting in the about the 25’ range pitch spoons to open slips or around the dock especially the shady side of the dock. This fish should be suspended under the dock. Some days they prefer the big flutter spoon and some days they prefer the slab spoon. These fish could be in the range of 15’-40’ feet of water but are generally suspending not very far below the floats. Plan on fishing a lot of docks to find the one that has active fish. If shad are present all the better and try to find the clearest water possible.

The Jewel Pee Wee football jig bite is happening. This is purely a timing deal. You can fish several areas with no bites then hit the right area and catch multiple fish. This bite is better in the river arms. Find the long gravel points or flats with deepwater or a roll off nearby. The fish tend to be from 12’-25’ deep. It varies based on the day. Start the day shallow and work out to the deeper water. With the slight stain have a bait with good contrast and whatever trailer you use add a little chartreuse to the tail. It does not take much.

Sunday June 9, 2024

Showers and heavier thunderstorms, cooler and cloudy then sun and clouds
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 57˚
Wind: NE 7-15 mph
The summertime drop-shot pattern is here. There are three places to check, and it seems to be random which one is the area on that day. Bluff ends, docks, and trees. The best place to start is the docks where the fish tend to be out on the end of the dock or near the cables. The next spot is to find deep trees on flats. The water depth could be 40’-50’ deep and the fish suspended in 20’-25’. They are comfortable in the these deeper trees. The shad shaped baits in shad colors seem to be working the best. Try to find more aggressive fish that come up to the bait.
