Weather Conditions
Friday September 27, 2024

Rain from tropical storm watch for flooding.
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 60˚
Wind: NNW 15-32 mph
With the high winds and overcast conditions this is a good day to cover water with a spinnerbait. Bank type is not as important fishing the wind. Wood cover standing timber ledges and larger mixed rock could all hold but cover lots of water. Fish the spinnerbait shallow and fast. Use a mouse-colored spinnerbait.

Saturday September 28, 2024

Cloudy and warmer
Temp: Hi 72˚ Low 58˚
Wind: N 8-24 mph
The Pee Wee football jig bite continues to develop. Fish on mixed rock and gravel points. This bite seems to be better in the river arms but is working on the main lake as well. These fish tend to be 12’-20’ deep and a bit deeper in the clearer water. Use a more natural brown and green colors and a green pumpkin trailer. Be sure to add a little orange or chartreuse to the pinchers. Not much just a little. Scrubbing the bait versus dragging seems to get more bites.

Sunday September 29, 2024

Partly sunny and nice.
Temp: Hi 75˚ Low 56˚
Wind: NE 7-16 mph
The drop-shot bite is probably the most consistent bite going right now and the fish want to be 20’-30’ deep in trees. The depth of the trees can be anywhere from 40’-80’ of water. If you find a small group of fish, they are usually aggressive and active, but these fish will keep moving. Keep moving with the fish or moving areas to find more fish. When water is being pulled the shad tends to group up more making it easier to find active fish. Shad shaped and colored soft plastic baits seem to be the best right now. Also try white.
