The Whopper Plopper bite is starting to happen. It might a little early and little different, but it is beginning. It is happening on steeper banks or bluff banks. There are not a lot of bites, but they are better quality fish. Plan on covering lots of water to get the bites. This bite does happen all day long so stay right with it and keep slinging it. Get the bait as close as possible to the bank.

The spoon bite in and around docks is good right now. These sunny and calmer days a putting the fish under the docks. Focus on larger docks that are over deeper water. The larger flutter spoon is catching some good quality fish right now. There is a slab spoon bite early when the fish are not under the dock and are a bit more aggressive. Plan on moving to multiple docks to find the one that has the aggressive and active fish.

Sunday August 25, 2024

Mostly sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 94˚ Low 70˚
Wind: SSE 5-7 mph
The football jig on gravel points is starting to take shape. It is better when they are pulling water. Use a Jewel Pee Wee football jig and put chartreuse on the trailer. Look for points with more gravel than not, this fish seems to want the gravel right now. The fish are right on the bottom in 15’-25’ of water. Plan on moving through multiple points in a day. When you land on the right spot at the right time you will catch plenty of fish. Timing matters, hit the right spot at the right time and you can catch them quickly.
