Weather Conditions
Friday October 11, 2024

Very warm plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 84˚ Low 55˚
Wind: S 6-8 mph
There is a plopper/buzzbait bite on gravel flats. It appears the topwater fish are adjusting based on the temperature. Higher the temperature more on shallow gravel, cooler temperatures more wood cover. This is a shallow bite and it requires covering a lot of water. If you just go down a bank the you might pick up a random bite. Plan on moving to many spots throughout the day get the bites but the bite will last all day. There will not be many bites, but they will be better quality fish. Black seems to be the color.

Saturday October 12, 2024

Remaining very warm with plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 88˚ Low 61˚
Wind: SW 7-17 mph
Square bill crankbaits around laydowns and stumps in the backs of creeks. This is very specific. Go to the back of a creek and fish the shallow wood cover thoroughly. These fish tend to be better quality fish. The bite also gets better as the day goes on and the sun positions the fish on the cover. Just go straight to the back of pockets and creeks that have wood cover. Fish it then move to the next one.

Sunday October 13, 2024

Plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 80˚ Low 46˚
Wind: N 8-16 mph
Use a drop-shot or spoon in trees on secondary points. The bite is really tough right now but these fish are the most consistent. If water is being generated in the afternoon it makes the bite better. Once you find a group of fish stay with them until they no longer bite. They will be moving around quickly so stay with them. A white Jewel scuba spoon or a shad-colored bait on the drop-shot.
