As the water cools fish are starting to show up in the guts of the creeks. These fish seem to be deep and can be on the bottom. The key to getting bites is finding shad in these guts. No shad equals no bites. These fish seem to be 45’-65’ deep. These fish are aggressive and moving following the shad. A spoon and Damiki rig seem to be the best way to catch these fish. Pull into any creek or gut and use forward facing sonar to locate the schools of shad, then pay attention to locate active fish around them.

Times of sun and clouds
Temp: Hi 56˚ Low 36˚
Wind: SSE 6-13 mph
Using a Pee Wee Spider HD and or Shakey head look for fish on mixed gravel and ledge rock secondary points, if the point has standing timber all the better. Keep the bait on the bottom by dragging the bait. The key depth is 12’-20’ feet of water. Position the boat in 25’-30’ of water cast shallow from there. This bite can be on points on the main lake or in larger creek arms, but it seems to be better in river arms.
Sunday December 3, 2023
Sunshine and a few clouds.
Temp: Hi 56˚ Low 35˚
Wind: WSW 7-18 mph
The wiggle wart and rock crawler bite are very specific but very repeatable. The fish are 5’-10’ deep on channel swing banks that have ledge rock on them or on the transitions right at the channel swing. This is very specific for the positioning of the fish. Fish the windiest banks that are like this and parallel the bank. The boat will be in roughly 12’ of water. Pay close attention to any wood cover in the water in that depth range. The wood cover an be standing timber, brushpiles or laydowns. Use craw colors that have orange in them.
