Cloudy with a passing shower.
Temp: Hi 49˚ Low 33˚
Wind: W 15-31 mph
The A-rig bite is the best bite on the lake right now. Use this overcast day with the front moving through to really catch fish with the A-rig. This should be a great day to catch numbers and big fish. Key on fish higher in the water column. Focus on main lake bluff ends but also look for those transition areas where fish can stack up on a day like this. Use a standard A-rig of your choice. It seems smaller shad-colored baits are better on the outer rigs and a larger shad swimbait in a slightly darker color with a chartreuse tail is better on the center rig.

Saturday February 1, 2025

Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 59˚ Low 42˚
Wind: SSE 8-21 mph
Post front day with some east in the wind will make it a difficult day. Focus on wood cover on 45˚ bank in the river arms. You can go long stretches will no bites and then catch several fish in a short period of time. Visible wood cover seems to be the best place to get bites. If there is a larger rock that is basketball size or bigger these tend to hold fish as well. A Jewel finesse jig of your choice with the skirt trimmed. Use a craw trailer that does not have a lot of action, the Jewel finesse craw is a good option. Fish very slowly and use the wind to your advantage.

Sunday February 2, 2025

Sunny with a few clouds.
Temp: Hi 68˚ Low 41˚
Wind: SW 7-17 mph
The swimbait/Damiki bite continues but is changing. Start by looking for groups of shad in the mouths of larger creek arms. Once you find the shad you should find fish/ The fish that are higher in the water column are actively feeding fish and more catchable. These fish are also moving fast and can be a challenge to stay with during the day. Use shad-colored swimbaits and Damiki rigs. One of the best ways to continue to catch fish is to keep moving and looking for new fish to target. Plan on being on the trolling motor and looking at the FFS screen all day.
