The A-rig bite is the best bite is the best way to catch fish right now. Main lake and secondary points seem to be the key areas to fish. The fish can be anywhere from 5’-30’ deep and can be up to 50’-60’ of water. Some sort of wood cover seems to be what they are holding to, that can be brush pile or standing timber. It seems smaller shad-colored baits are better on the outer rigs and a larger shad swimbait in a slightly darker color with a chartreuse tail is better on the center rig.

Times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 59˚ Low 30˚
Wind: N 8-20 mph
The damiki/swimbait is working better. These fish change so much it can be hard to find them regularly. Look for fish to be in the front half of creeks particularly the larger creeks. The fish are scattered and suspended from 20’-50’ in the water column. The ones that are higher in the water column or less than 30’ seem to be more catchable. Schools of bait fish do not have to be present, but it does help. These fish are also moving fast and can be a challenge to stay with during the day. Use FFS to locate fish and keep moving to location all day to keep finding active fish.
Sunday March 2, 2025
Cloudy.
Temp: Hi 54˚ Low 37˚
Wind: SE 9-20 mph
There is a bottom bite that is happening but it is very specific. Use a Jewel AJ jig or Ned rig on bluff ends. The fish are sitting on the bottom right on the edge of the shelf or steps of the bluff in 10’-20’ of water. The fish will get the bait on the fall or as it falls off the steps. Stick to the standard browns and greens for the color but you can add a little orange to the pinchers. This is a very light bite it just feels like weight or a leaf on so don’t be afraid to set the hook. Pay close attention to the line and using spinning gear and light line is not a bad option.
