Weather Conditions
Friday March 14, 2025
Partly sunny windy then an afternoon storm.
Temp: Hi 76˚ Low 51˚
Wind: S 15-53 mph
The Wart/Crawler bite is finally showing up, but it seems to be specific. Looked for stained water in the river arms. Fish on the main lake and in the front half of creek arms. Key on rock transitions especially where it goes from chunk/mixed rock to gravel. Keep the boat in 12’-15’ of water and cast at 45˚ to the bank. Crank it steady. The bite improves as the day goes on.

Saturday March 15, 2025

Cooler times of clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 63˚ Low 36˚
Wind: WSW 9-22 mph
The A-rig bite is the best bite is the best way to catch fish right now. Secondary points from the mouth of creeks to about halfway back seems to the best. Also fish the side of the points. It seems with the water being pulled the fish are positioning on the sides of these points. Timber must be present and the tops need to be in 5’-10’ of water. This is very specific and the fish are starting to change fast with the warm spell. Using shad-colored baits is better on the outer rigs and a larger shad swimbait for the middle bait in a slightly darker color with a chartreuse tail is better on the center rig.

Sunday March 16, 2025

Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 52˚ Low 34˚
Wind: WNW 8-21 mph
The damiki/swimbait/jighead minnow is still working. Look for fish to be in the front half of creeks particularly the larger creeks. The most catchable fish are in 5’-30’ in the water column. Schools of bait fish do not have to be present, but it does help to find gizzard shad present in the creek. The key to the bigger bite is to have gizzard shad present. Plan on looking at FFS to locate fish all day long. The biggest factor in continuing to catch fish is to keep moving all day to keep finding active fish.
